Product overview
Torx-style countersunk wood screws are a sourcing direction for timber and wood-based assembly. The head and drive profile, thread and coating must be matched to the material and application.
Selection and specifications
Specify screw diameter and overall length, drive size, head profile, thread coverage, base material and finish. The suitability of a pilot hole depends on the wood, screw dimensions and installation method; do not assume one rule fits every material.
Specification checklist
Request the following details for the selected model before ordering.
- Diameter and length: to be confirmed
- Drive size and head: to be confirmed
- Thread type: to be confirmed
- Material and finish: to be confirmed
- Suitable application: to be confirmed
- Pieces per package: to be confirmed
How to select a wood screw
Match diameter and length to the thickness of both pieces and the intended connection. A countersunk head is designed to sit in a compatible recess; confirm the required head profile and drive size with the drawing or sample. Thread form and usable length vary between screws.
In hardwood and near board edges, the pilot-hole approach should be checked against the wood species and fastener guidance. For exposed or outdoor use, specify the environment and request the corresponding finish and corrosion evidence.
Before approving an order
Confirm whether the quoted length includes the countersunk head, the exact drive profile and size, and whether the quoted packaging quantity is per box or carton. The appropriate coating depends on the substrate and exposure; ask for the coating specification and any applicable test report.
Information to include in your enquiry
Provide the target size, quantity per size, wood or board type, indoor or outdoor use, packaging count and any corrosion-resistance requirements. Request a drawing and sample before committing to a batch.
